Tips and news to support your hearing health.

World Hearing Day is held each year on 3 March to raise awareness about preventing hearing loss, tinnitus, and deafness, as well as how to care for your ears. The World Health Organization (WHO) creates an annual campaign to share information and promote awareness about hearing loss and ways to improve hearing care.

This year, the WHO’s theme is “Ear and Hearing Care for All,” highlighting that ear and hearing problems are among the most common health issues encountered in communities worldwide.

Early intervention can help slow the progression of hearing loss, and learning how to manage hearing changes is key. Even if your hearing loss seems minor, it’s important to have your hearing checked as soon as you notice any symptoms.

A Global Challenge That Affects Millions

I believe it’s important to recognise just how significant this global challenge is. Around 466 million people worldwide live with hearing loss, and this number continues to grow. In the UK alone, 11 million people are living with hearing loss — approximately one in six of the population.

At Beckenham Hearing, we’re proud to support initiatives like World Hearing Day to help raise awareness and spark discussion within our local community. At every stage of life, hearing plays a vital role in communication, socialising, learning, and working. My team is focused on providing the highest level of care and innovation to help people with hearing loss live life to the fullest.
