Director/Owner Audiologist
I grew up in Crystal Palace, (back when it was much less trendy), with Crystal Palace Park practically serving as my backyard. My friends and I explored its hidden treasures and tunnels, many of which are now covered up.
A career in the world of hearing was a journey I didn’t initially set out to take; my roots are in micro-electronics engineering, crafting stereo equipment and mixing decks. Transitioning into making hearing aids was the start of something special. As technology evolved to digital, I found myself working with two leading global hearing aid manufacturers in sales and tech teams. I supported audiologists with challenging fittings and troubleshooting. This role provided me invaluable insights and experience over the past 30 years, which I now bring to solutions and outcomes for my patients.
As a fully qualified audiologist with a BSc honours degree in hearing science, my day-to-day responsibilities are both diverse and rewarding. I'm not just identifying hearing loss: My role is to pinpoint where in the auditory system it lies. Then, I find the best solution, tailoring a plan that best meets each patient's needs.
What I love most about my work is restoring people's faith and trust in my profession, especially for those who've had disappointing experiences with other providers. While I make sure to provide best practices for all patients, sometimes creating unique solutions for unique needs involves breaking conventional rules.
My favourite milestone with patients is their first six-month check-up; seeing them realise the positive impact of their trust and our mutual journey of rehabilitation is immensely satisfying. Many wish they had embraced help sooner and they become advocates for our clinic!
Outside of work, I stay fit and host gatherings with my wife and our energetic son, Nathan. I have a penchant for adventure, having jumped out of a plane, participated in a bull run in Pamplona, thrown tomatoes in Valencia, and ridden super bikes— albeit slowly!
Nowadays, I enjoy mountain biking, and long walks with my French bulldog, and I'm always up for a new challenge.
