Tips and news to support your hearing health.

Learning to lipread can greatly improve how much those with hearing loss understand, especially when used alongside hearing aids. It can help fill in the gaps in social situations with friends and family, boost confidence at work or in education, and make day-to-day interactions, such as visiting doctors or banks, much easier.
A new 12-week course is set to begin in Bromley this September and is designed for anyone new to lipreading who wants to learn the basic techniques.
The classes will begin on Monday 12 September 2022 and will be held at The Poverest Centre in Orpington, between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Regular attendance is encouraged to ensure continued improvement of your skills. A further series of classes is also scheduled to start on Monday 9 January 2023.
Class tutor Lisa Cox will lead a structured programme of exercises to help participants develop their lipreading techniques. She will also cover practical aspects of managing hearing loss, making the sessions a great opportunity to meet others in similar situations and share experiences.
